Hello, I'm Alex — and this is Bob and Boo

Bob and Boo is a small, one-woman studio nestled in a quiet Somerset village, tucked between Cheddar and Glastonbury, where I live with my husband, two little girls, and our two miniature dachshunds.

The name says it all, really. Bob is the nickname of my eldest daughter, and Boo has always been me — a nickname that followed me from childhood. Two names, one little shop, and a big dream.

Where it all began

Bob and Boo was born from a very personal moment. After the arrival of my first baby, I found myself struggling to remember the details of her birth — the time, the weight, those tiny but irreplaceable facts that feel so enormous in those early, sleep-deprived days. It made me really upset.

Then my best friend gave me a gift: a beautiful personalised print with all of those details on it. She hung it on the nursery wall, and from that day on, every time I walked in, I remembered. That print held the memory for me when my brain couldn't.

That feeling — of a thoughtful, personalised gift doing something quietly powerful — is what Bob and Boo is built on.

What I make

The personalisation process
